Billy Bang plays an instrument more closely identified with a concert hall than
a Jazz club, but there is no mistaking his primary source of inspiration - JAZZ.
A free Jazz that was prevalent in the lofts of downtown Manhattan where the
Avant-garde music of the day was housed. Billy Bang was an integral part of
that loft scene. Mr. Bang was inspired by the music of John Coltrane and
Ornette Coleman, he is moved by THE MUSIC of the SPIRIT.
